Student Of the Year 2 - Karan Johar's version of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.

Rohan (Tiger Shroff) gets into the esteemed St. Teresa's as an underdog from the slums sports scholarship which he had anticipated for a long time as his girlfriend of 12 years study in St T's. Mia (Tara Sutaria) is sweet and ambitious student who expect to ace her future with the upcoming dance competition. Shreya (Ananya Pandey) on the other hand is a college brat who think low of anyone but her as the men in her family treat her that way.

Rohan, who is the underdog from Pishorilal Chamandas college starts his collge life under the mentorship of Manav(Aditya Seal), the College Stud who feels his reputation is at stake as Rohan is much better than what he thought of him. Rohan and Mia becomes college sweethearts but this interrupted when Rohan gets rusticated from college for a reason which could be anything. A scarred Rohan joins Pishorilal Chamandas College and return to St.T's to win the Dignity Cup as a pay back to Manav & the college that threw him out.

There are a lot of guest appearance's in the movie namely, the previous students Alia Bhatt who does a item number with Tiger Shroff and last but not the least, Will Smith all the way from hollywood dancing to the tunes of Yeh Jawani Diwani song.

With the story line such as the same, we wonder if the movie a Karan Johar version of the 1992 Aamir Khan starer movie, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.

The first half of the movie till Rohan' rustication is a direct influence from SOTY 1 and the second half which showcases the run for the Dignity Cup is inspired from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander except for the reason where here Rohan tries to win the Dignity cup for himself where as in JJWS, Sanju does it for his elder brother.

Tiger Shroff was a perfect fit for the role of Rohan Sachdev in the movie. He can dance, good at sports and has the innocence and body which make girls like him. Out of the girls, Tara Sutaria shines like a true star on camera and Ananya Pandey is bad news that would you would like to party hard with but stay away from and also the lonely rich girl from the inside who just wants her father's appreciation for who she is...or atleast an acknowledgement that she is also a member of his family.

But kudos to Aditya Seal... A worthy opponent chosen wisely against Tiger Shroff. His attitude towards his charector was very genuine and he blended perfectly well too. He had a lot of characteristics from Rohan Nanda(role played by Varun Dhawan in SOTY) an ex-student.

The execution of the movie was on the spot. The was no uncomfortable stretches in the movie. It was a quick paced movie with a lot happening. The songs were incorporated at the right "coincidences" and was maintained till the end of the movie.

It was really refreshing to see Gul Panang in the movie as a very attractive gay physical education instructor.

There is no surprise in who is the couple though the trailer suggests it is Rohan's call to make.

The movie is a big college party which we all wish we were a part of through out where the all the actors look at best, even the streets where the underdog lives.

Surprisingly, the song Mumbai dilli di kudiyan was not in the movie.

The movie is a one timer for all Tiger & Dharma fans. And for the other, you will find it similar to many plot lines, but not boring.
